Glacier National Park - 8/74

Glacier is our favorite National Park.  Our love of mountains, hikes, and memorable camping/lodge trips make it special.  Doug and I were there in September of 1968 for a great backpacking adventure.  Just one year after the "Night of the Grizzlies", a PBS special we watched just last night, reconstructing the death of two campers, miles apart, by da bears.

Ignore that, we returned to Glacier in 1974, Karyl, Macy, Doug, Jack, and Ken Arnold for a great adventure.  We started a tradition of great "gag" shots.  This was also the trip I tried to celebrate my birthday in the grand environs of East Glacier Lodge with a memorable martini.  Given the high elevation drive back to the campground, Macy shot it down.  First the gag shots...

The cards had images of "questionable beauties".  I can only assume Karyl brought those.  Ken was obviously three sheets to the wind.

I have no idea what the "theme" of this shot was.  Use your imagination.

No imagination needed here.

  2. Poor Ken just had to sit there and watch your senseless bridge game - no wonder he was three sheets!
